What is Silk Road 100?
Silk Road 100 is the program which combines Startups Challenge, Mentoring program and Scaling follow-up for top Iranian startups to take their startup to the next level.
Includes a launch of a call for entry for all startups across Iran to select the top 100 startups. We launched this competition in September 2017 and out of 400 applications, 84 of them had enough level to be part of the top 100 startups who were selected to pitch during our road trip. We chose 16 starts as finalists to be able to pitch during the road trip.
A 100 day dedicated program for the finalists who will be pitching at the Silk Road Startup Summit in Kish. It includes the 1:1 mentoring, Webinars and physical Workshops. The goal is to help these startups get the most out of the Summit, know how to pitch, how to connect to the attendees who are a mix of investors, international experts, potential clients.
A 100 day time-to-scale after the Summit during which we will help our startups with 100 curated contacts who would be potential investors or partners, introduced by our network. The purpose is to maximize startups’ chance to scale by the right connection with our matchmaking efforts.
Our Online Acceleration Program
It is a 100-Day Online Acceleration for the silk road Startups (the finalist startups + the other who pitched during the road trip) to help them with their pitch, connections, goals achievements. It consists of 1:1 mentoring sessions and Webinars.
Godfathers & GodMothers
Each startup finalist will have a mentor assigned to them who will follow-up with them for the whole 100 days
A chevalier mentor is the one who will be available for all startups who need his or her expertise.
A spark mentor will give a one-shot webinar session on a specific topic

The Theory of 100, the First 100 days:
The origins come from the Napoleon Bonaparte and later inspired by Franklin Roosevelt as a timeline for the first 100 days of presidency, when the president is meant to be evaluated on his performance. In the lean startup context, you can set up a lean startup in 100 days to validate a hypothesis and put it in place or eliminate it. The first 100 days of any project is when you go through a lot of hypothesis and try to validate or reject them in order to tailor the model. For any company there are a series of milestones such as a product launch, a new chapter or announcement, opening a new market and so on. 100 days is a long time and it is normally enough to set the targets and move towards them.
